1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing cornerstonedoors.ca or using any services provided by Cornerstone Doors ("we," "our," or "us"), you ("Customer") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our Site or services.

These Terms apply to all residential and commercial customers in our service area. Where a separate written service agreement exists, that agreement takes precedence.

2. About Cornerstone Doors

Cornerstone Doors provides professional garage door installation, repair, and opener services across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), Ontario, Canada.

3. Services

3.1 Scope

  • Garage door installation (residential and commercial)
  • Garage door repair
  • Garage door opener installation, repair, and replacement

3.2 Service Area

We serve 25 cities across the GTA including Toronto and cities in Peel, Durham, York, and Halton Regions. Availability is subject to technician scheduling.

3.3 Free Estimation

We offer free on-site estimates. A technician aims to arrive within 30 minutes of confirmed booking within our service area. The 30-minute arrival target is a service commitment, not a contractual guarantee. Delays will be communicated as soon as reasonably possible.

3.4 Service Hours

  • Standard service: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm
  • Weekend service: By appointment (Saturday–Sunday)
  • Emergency / after-hours: subject to availability and may carry additional charges disclosed at booking

3.5 Right to Decline Service

We reserve the right to decline or discontinue a service in cases of unsafe working conditions, inaccessible equipment, or non-payment of outstanding balances. We will notify you at the earliest opportunity and offer rescheduling where applicable.

4. Estimates and Pricing

4.1 Estimates

A written estimate is provided before work commences. Final pricing may differ only if additional damage is discovered during service or the Customer requests a change in scope — in either case, the technician will notify you and obtain approval before proceeding.

4.2 Price Guarantee

We will match any lower written quote from a licensed, insured GTA garage door company for an identical scope of work. Present the quote before work begins. Quotes from unlicensed contractors, online marketplaces, or promotional pricing are excluded.

4.3 Payment Terms

  • Payment is due in full upon completion of service
  • We accept cash, major credit cards, and Interac e-Transfer
  • Invoices unpaid after 30 days accrue a late fee of 2% per month (24% per annum)
  • Disputed charges must be reported in writing within 14 days; disputed amounts will not accrue fees while under review

5. Warranty

5.1 Lifetime Labour Warranty

Cornerstone Doors provides a lifetime warranty on all labour performed by our certified technicians, valid for as long as the original Customer owns or occupies the property where the work was performed. The warranty is non-transferable and covers defects in workmanship — errors or failures attributable to how the work was performed, not to the parts themselves.

5.2 Parts Warranty

Parts are covered by the manufacturer's warranty (varies by product). Labour required to replace a part under its manufacturer warranty is covered by our lifetime labour warranty.

5.3 Warranty Exclusions

The warranty does not cover: misuse, abuse, or neglect; third-party modifications; normal wear and tear on consumables; accidents, vehicle impact, or extreme weather events; cosmetic damage; or pre-existing conditions disclosed at the time of estimate.

5.4 Claims Process

Contact us describing the issue and original service date. We acknowledge within 2 business days, assess within 5 business days, and if approved, schedule corrective labour within 10 business days at no charge. See our Warranty page for full details.

6. Customer Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and unobstructed access to the work area before the technician arrives
  • Ensure a responsible adult (18+) is present for the duration of the appointment
  • Provide accurate information about the issue and any prior repairs
  • Clear the work area of vehicles, pets, and personal property
  • Follow post-service maintenance instructions provided by our technician
  • Not authorize third-party modifications to completed work without our prior written consent — doing so may void the warranty

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Ontario law, our total liability for any single claim is limited to the amount paid for the specific service engagement giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site — text, images, graphics, logos, brand name, and tagline — is the property of Cornerstone Doors and is protected by Canadian copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without our prior written permission.

9. Website Use

10. Privacy and Data Handling

Your privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. Our Site uses Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, and Web3Forms for analytics and form processing. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

11. Dispute Resolution

Before any formal proceedings, you agree to contact us at [email protected] with a written description of the dispute. We will acknowledge within 2 business days and respond substantively within 10 business days.

If unresolved after 30 days, disputes may proceed to mediation, Ontario Small Claims Court (up to $35,000), or Ontario Superior Court. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario.

12. Changes to These Terms

Material changes will be accompanied by at least 14 days' advance notice. Minor changes require no advance notice. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised with each update. Continued use of our Site after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary or severed. The remaining provisions continue in full force.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any written service agreements, constitute the entire agreement between you and Cornerstone Doors.
